Designing a multi-purpose pole
Where a pole carries both a luminaire and net fittings, both loads must be considered in the structural design. The form of the arm, connection details, light distribution and maintenance access also need to be coordinated. The finished configuration should be reviewed against approved drawings and the actual site requirements rather than generic sports-lighting assumptions.

Coordinating lighting with the net system
On a private sports site, the two functions of this pole should be reviewed together. The lighting designer needs to determine fixture positions and beam control for the playing area. Separately, the net designer needs to define attachment loads, cable or net tension and maintenance access. Combining these requirements early can prevent a visually clean arm from becoming difficult to install or service.
A custom three-dimensional arm also benefits from an agreed reference drawing and finish sample. Before production, the client should confirm whether the luminaire, diffuser, net hardware and foundations are included in the supplier’s scope. The page does not claim a measured glare result or a verified impact rating without project documentation.
