Coordinating decoration and function
Open patterns can affect the available structure and the space for internal components. Keeping the pattern compatible with lighting hardware
For this 3 m decorative pole, the pattern, luminaire and internal service space must work together. The fabricator should keep critical connections and cable routes clear of openings, and the lighting designer should confirm that the chosen fixture provides the intended appearance and illumination. A sample panel can be useful for approving the laser-cut pattern and finish.
Where an access door or sealed luminaire is part of the assembly, each component’s protection rating should be documented separately. The pole as a whole should not be described as IP-rated unless the full assembly has been tested accordingly.
